I know there are way worse problems people have that are deadly and more painful. I have this problem and it's sent me to the Hospital. This problem made me want to kill myself. I wish that I could have Gastric Bypass Surgery. I am a 24 year old lady that is 5'2 and 290lbs. I am not a lazy person. I don't sit around and eat all day long. But i can't run and play with my niece even when she begs me too. I would love to be able to sit down and cross my legs. I would love to be able to buckle my saftey belt on airplane. The situation is that 2 years ago my doctor recommended me for gastric Bypass Surgery. I was approved by the Psych. Doctors and by my insurance. But with my surgery i had to meet a $1000. deductable and i did. I was so happy knowing that i was going to get a second chance in life. I was scheduled to talk to the doctor in december and set the operation appointment. I was going to have the surgery in Jan. or Feb of the following year. But in the beginning of December i received a letter from my insurance stating as of Jan. 1St they would only cover $10,000 of the surgery and i couldn't afford the rest. I was not able to have the surgery. i felt as though someone stole my future from me. I tried to fight the insurance company and have them honor the approved surgery but they denied me. I recently moved to florida and hoping to be able to try to get the surgery covered i purchased a insurance plan with the company i work for. I pay $571 a month but turns otu they dont cover the surgery either. I have Blue Cross/ Blue Sheild. Im really having a hard time affording but i keep it in hopes that maybe one day they'll cover the surgery but i highly doubt it. I \' m telling you i have tried so many diets and exersize programs. (Low carb, No carb, Weight watchers, i ve hired a personal trainer, i joined curves.). Nothing is working and i'm tired of all of these full hearted attempts and them failing. there's people out there that has worse problems than i do. i wish to have a decent job so the bills could get paid. things do not look good in our home. my boyfriend only works 16 hrs a week. he has been at his job for 22 yrs. it's hard for me to find a job. we have a disconnection notice for everything we have. my boyfriend has to pay child support & it comes right out of his check before he gets it. things are really hard and it has put a lot of tension between the two of us. i wish for a job so our bills could be paid on time like they use to be. my parents always said you think you have it bad. look around you. i can't ask my family for help because they have never been there for me.Friday, September 30, 2005 at 13:14 |
