30 ) - Everyone waiting for someone else to start.

I've been building a design studio from the ground up for several years now, hoping all the while that I could take it full-time but never quite having the savings or the guts, or the precisely right situation.

Just before Christmas I got downsized out of my day job, and realized that it was happening to everyone in the area, and there were no steady jobs to be found! I was without any sort of business-related savings to fall back on, but I had almost everything I needed. So here I am, running Virtual Magpie full time!

Now I will say something sentimental, about the Deity Upstairs placing impossible circumstances in our paths to make us stronger. And then I'll keep an eye out for everyone else's stories, because I am very interested in how we all got here!

28 ) - Never better

One day a boy came to his teacher and said:
" Teacher, pa wants to know if you like roast pig.""I certainly do," said the teacher, "and you tell your
father he is very kind to think of me."Days passed, and nothing more was said about the roast pig.Finally the teacher said to the boy:"I thought your father was going to send me over some roast pig.""Yes," said the boy, "he did intend to, but the pig sot well."
By the time John pulled into the little town, every hotel room was taken.
"You've got to have a room somewhere." he pleaded. "Or just a bed--I don't care where.""Well, I do have a double room with one occupant," admitted the manager," and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you.""No problem," the tired traveler assured him. "I'll take it."The next morning, John came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. When asked about how he slept, he replied, "Never better."The manager was impressed. "No problem with the other guy snoring, then?""Nope. I shut him up in no time.""How'd you manage that?""He
was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room," John said. "I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful.' With that he sat up all night watching me."

27 ) - hard rubbish

The local council is collecting hard rubbish. I have collected two bicycles from other people's rubbish, but best of all, for the first time in years, I have thrown out more than I have collected.

26 ) - Help for a lady

Brenda Sauer in a 57 year young lady who is about to loose the home she has known since before she was born, due to a tax forclosure lien.
I have been able to raise $8,000.00 so far but she needs a total of about $22,000.00. I will continue to seek the Lord and all places He gets me to find to find or borrow the money to save her home in North Brunswick NJ. Please, anyone, if you would, could about 14,000 of you please help with $1.00. If someone could loan a larger amount I will see to it that you get it back with interest. 23 ) - Trying to Claw Our Way to Normal

During the past year and a half, life has been extremely cruel. What was once a happy household...my father, sister and I shared the cost of three bedroom home.

First our grandfather became very ill. While he was waiting to die, my stepgrandmother left. She went to the store and never came back. After he died, my sister became very ill and consequently lost her job. When she tried to go to school and get her degree, what we believed to be a very close family friend abondoned her in the middle of nowhere. She ended up coming home.

Next we lost our landlord, which was very much like another grandparent. His boys are fighting over the estate now.

Then my father began having problems with his arthitis and had his hours cut. He lost his job a few days before his birthday. He turned 52. A few days later he had a massive heart attack on our front steps. He did not survive. My sister and I lost our roommate, our best friend, and our daddy.

A couple of months later, we lost his sister.

Now that we're beginning to come out of the depression, we're so broke. The house is too much...physically and financially.

I wish...even though we're behind on bills that we can get a loan to buy a trailer we found in a nice little park -- to give us time and space and the opportunity to heal.

22 ) - need a miracle

i am a 46 year old woman with 2 boys. i have always been in medical management. i have helped so many people who could not afford medical care by writing off their debt to the doctor they saw. a couple of years ago i was working for a doctor (7 years) i started his practice and made it very successful. my husband wanted to go into the building business, the doctor asked my husband to build his personal home and he did. he was going to pay us 15% of the total cost of the house. as time went on the doctor asked me to leave the practice and take care of the books in the new venture he was going to put my husband in. he wanted to be a silent partner and my husband the builder would build homes. he wanted me to run that office. within one mopnth after i left my job he took my position away never would sign the papers with my husband for the new business. 1.7 million dollars later his house was finished and we were never paid. i basically had a nervous breakdown. i could not believe that we had been conned. my husband had built a fireplace business before this happened and the doctor wanted him to give it up to give 110% to the building business, he did. now our home is in forecloser. we are losing everything we have ever worked for. my son dropped out of college to come home and help out in any way he could. he are nearly destitute. i wish someone could help us with a least helping us keep our home. i don't know where we are going to live, we can't find work. the doctor can't be trusted to even give me a descent reference to get a job. i know so much about him he was on drugs and bought them and claimed to use them in surgery on his patients. i know this was not true. i kept the records. we have gone to attorneys who basically have said we don't have enough money to fight him. is there someone out there who can help us. i pray everyday for a miracle. we are good people and have raised our boys well. we have always helped who we could along the years. now we have nothing. we are broke mentally, physically, spiritually, financially. we just need a miracle. we are hard working people and would like to continue to build homes for those who need them for a reasonable fee. but we can't get the money to do this either. we are lost. please help us. we will be more than glad to meet with you and have you really see our situation. we are an open book. thank you and god bless.

35 ) - Please, Can anyone help me with a car?

This past year has not been good. I found out my 'fiance cheated on me for the whole 2 years we were together. I lost 2 jobs, have had to move 3 times, now i reside in Las Vegas with my ex husband which is very uncomfortable. Its good for our 9 year old son, but i have no home of my own, no job, an NO CAR. Please can someone help me with a vehicle, this would greatly be appreciated so i can get out there and look for work and get back on my feet.
May God bless the kind hearted soul that could please help my son an I with a vehicle!!
I have also recently had to file for bankruptcy which is the last thing ever i wanted to do. This is the hardest thing I have had to do by biting my PRIDE an ask for HELP, VERY BIG STEP FOR ME!PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!
